ROHDS (Reaching Out From Hickory Day School) Hours
Blank Community Service Sheet
Community and Service starts in the classroom and extends beyond it, requiring students to participate in the communities in which they live. The emphasis is on developing community awareness and concern, a sense of responsibility, and the skills and attitudes needed to make an effective contribution to society.
All current middle school students will participate in community service outreach projects which are a natural extension of the middle school curriculum. Students will document their hours, responsibilities, and benefits to the community in their service binders after completion of each service project. Upon the culmination of each school year, a service award is presented to the student who has demonstrated the desire and commitment towards becoming an integral member of their community.
As an MYP candidate school we are continuously working towards a more integrated curriculum and being active in our community.
