Support HDS
Hickory Day School is the only non-sectarian, independent school in Hickory.
We are an International Baccalaureate PYP school, an educational option that is
recognized worldwide and is important to bringing new businesses to Hickory and to
recruiting talented managers and employees to established local businesses.
Because we are independent, our school receives no funding from local, state, or
federal tax revenue. Rather, we rely on tuition income, which covers only a portion
of the cost of a child's school experience.
To meet the remaining funding needed to provide our International Baccalaureate
world school education, we depend on fundraising activities and the philanthropic
gifts received annually.
Annual Fund
Hickory Day School's Annual Fund was created by the Board of Trustees to encourage
yearly giving by trustees, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and other friends of the
school. All gifts are needed and appreciated, and no gift is too small.
The success of the Annual Fund depends on participation from all those who recognize
the value of school community, not only to our students, but also as the only local
International Baccalaureate PYP school and as a cornerstone of educational excellence
in Greater Hickory.
Endowment Fund
The Hickory Day School Endowment Fund was established in 2007. Endowment fund principal
is invested and the interest generated is used for long-term sustainability for the school.
Contributions to the fund pay tribute to the value of the educational experience
offered by the school and help ensure its perpetuity.
