Class Title Performing Arts: Grades TK - 8
All the WHOs down in Whoville are really busy preparing "The Grinch" for our holiday program! New songs and script portions have been written and rehearsals have begun. Now we have costume instructions for you. Please print the costume page and post it in a prominent place. We'll need all costume pieces at school by November 30. Thanks for all your assistance!
Grades 5-8:
Since the beginning of the school year, Ms. Stinson-Hawn has been working with the 5-8 graders twice a week for 45 minutes.
Developmentally appropriate theatre games that explore the use of all five senses as well as improvisations to develop self-esteem and quick thinking were the focus of the first 3 weeks.
Learning about story structure, including the parts of Aristotle's story arc were the focus of the next 2 weeks.
Currently, we are learning about Technical Theatre including all the personnel needed behind the scenes to make a performance happen.
The 7th & 8th graders are to serve as the stage management and technical staff for the December holiday show.
The 5th & 6th graders are to serve as actors in the Decemeber holiday show.
