Hickory Day School focuses on the development of drama, theatre, music, and the visual arts in all grades.

Throughout the school year, the visual arts program works directly with the PYP classroom teachers, planning activities to correlate the arts with their Program of Inquiry. Students create work to reinforce and enhance their studies in addition to fulfilling the objectives required of the NC Standard Course of Study.

HDS students also present a major performing arts production each year, which can be seen below.  Through these productions, students learn about technical theatre by painting scenery and creating props, and the powerful influence of music.

All performances are held at the Catawba Science Center Auditorium.
